How games work at the Bureau
Plain answers to the questions people ask about our games: where results come from, what the paytables mean and what we will never do.
01Where results come from
Every game runs in your browser. When you press Spin, Deal, Drop or Roll, the game asks your browser's cryptographic random number generator — the same kind used to make secure connections — for fresh numbers and turns them into a result using the rules in that game's dossier. Nothing is decided in advance and nothing depends on your account, your clearance, your balance or the time of day.
02Published paytables
Each game page has a Paytable tab with the rules, symbol values and features of that game, taken from the same settings the game itself uses. Reels and cascades show returns as multiples of your stake, so it is easy to see what each combination is worth.
03Balanced over time
Our games are tuned so that, over a very large number of rounds, they hand back a little less than is staked — just like the games they are modelled on. In the short run anything can happen. Because Stamps have no cash value, this changes nothing about your money; we tell you so that the games are not presented as something they are not.
04Temperament
Every game has a temperament on its card. Calm games return small amounts often. Steady games mix small and medium returns. Lively games have quieter stretches and livelier features. Wild games can go quiet for a long time and their features land harder. Instant and table games marked "Your choice" let you pick the risk before each round.
05Honest labels
When a round gives back less than your stake, we show it as part of your stake coming back — "Back 40 of 100" — never as a win. Only a return larger than your stake is shown in gold.
06What we never do
- No autoplay, no turbo and no quick-spin modes.
- No reels slowing down to tease a feature.
- No different results for members, visitors or crawlers — the site is the same for everyone.
- No purchases, no real money and no prizes of monetary value.
- No countdowns or reward streaks that punish you for stepping away.
07Stamps
Stamps are a play currency with no cash value. They are handed out free and cannot be bought, sold, transferred, exchanged or withdrawn. Playing or success at social casino games does not imply future success at real-money gambling.
